I was told that polititions here in Pa have their property taxes paid for by our tax dollars. No wander the ones that don't support S.T.O.P don't care about the people. Talk about a corrupt system in this government.
John, Delaware Water Gap says :
Why is it so difficult for Pa Politicians to grasp the concept of taxing consumption? I am subsidizing our local municipality and schools through taxes on my property. I have no kids, sidewalks, "city water / sewer, rubbish removal, fire hydrants or police department! What utility do I directly receive from my hard earned tax dollars leaving my savings? I say tax the macaroni & cheese, lift tickets at ski areas, hotel tax (sorry Bob Uggicioni), admissions to water parks, computer games, roller skating bowling centers and anything else used by children. To be penalized for having a nice property is inequitable. Any thoughts? John, Delaware Water Gap

I totally agree with John. If everything in this state was on a "user pays" principle, then we wouldnt have nearly so many problems with government spending and taxes. You want social services, you pay for it. You want to send your kids to school, you pay for it, etc, etc... but, if you dont care to do any of the sort, then dont pay. There would be alot less misuse of services, and greater efficiency in government.
Dan says :
What is needed is a show of force in numbers in person .Emails can be ignored. Storm Harrisburg and shut the place down with over a 100,000 digruntled homeowners and others who support STOP. Look at the media attention the mearly 1,000 or so got who showed up for the pay raise and the result of that being changed. Lets see if the homeowners can band together like the spanish folks did.
