Animals Are Property Tax Victims, Too!

Amy Weibel of Lower Burrell, offers these thoughts:

I just learned recently that the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society Shelter in Pittsburgh was forced to put down 100 dogs and cats.

As I read and "preach" all the reasons to support the S.T.O.P. legislation to abolish property taxes on homesteads in Pennsylvania, I wonder how many of the animals dropped off at the various shelters are the result of folks being forced out of their homes and not being able to keep their pets at the next address. Or, don’t take them with them when they move out of the ‘state of taxes’-- Pennsylvania.

So while we strive to save the people’s homesteads, let us not forget the other innocent victims of these circumstances --the animals! I hope we can appeal to the animal lovers to support this effort in hopes they are never put in this situation.
