AARP BLASTS PROPERTY TAXES
The America Association of
Retired Persons has a
national policy regarding
property taxes. It reads:
“Property tax is the single most burdensome
tax
for many low-income and
older persons. States
should broaden their
method of financing public
education, thereby
taking some of the burden off
the regressive property
tax.” (End quote)
S.T.O.P. says: Abolish ALL
property taxes on
homesteads (primary residences)
in Pennsylvania.
* End the horrid practice of
confiscating and putting up
for sheriff sale, the homes of
seniors, veterans, young
couples, disabled folks and
others who can’t keep up with
the property tax burden.
* Did you know that The
Allegheny County Sheriff
placed sheriff sale ads
totaling $3.2 MILLION during 2001
and 2002? The ads, paid for by
the litigants, were placed in
the Post Gazette, Tribune
Review, and the Law Journal. Is
this why the Post Gazette and
Tribune-Review favor the
continuation of the present
property tax system? Why
don’t they mention how the
newspapers benefit when they
write their editorials or other
articles supporting the unjust
and immoral property tax
system?
* Spread the word and help
Pennsylvania become
America’s only Home Free State.
